Corethree Data Reveals UK’s Rapidly Growing Appetite for Mobile Ticketing During Top Travel Month of September
Record-breaking month fuelled by 21,000 requests processed per minute during peak times as mobile app users purchase back to work, school, and university travel tickets.
Corethree – Europe’s leading mobile ticketing and data insights provider – has released its September data, which reveals a rapid acceleration in the UK’s adoption of mobile ticketing as the choice of the travelling public as they return to work, school and university after the summer break. Core Engine, with its mobile-data intelligence platform, smoothly processing 21,000 requests per minute – 350 per second – at its peak whilst latency remained under 100 milliseconds, September has been a record-breaking month with over 800,000 m-tickets bought in just one week, generating £7,250,000 in sales.
The highest number of m-tickets – 175,000 – were sold on Monday 30th September 2019 with half of these being processed before 9 am. Data from the same day in 2018, when £1,440,000 million worth of m-tickets were sold compared to this year when £2,000,000 worth were sold, shows a 30 percent increase in mobile ticket sales. This data provides a unique insight into how UK consumers are embracing mobile retail transactions and is a testament to the scalability and robust processing power of Corethree’s Core Engine digital ticketing platform.
“September is always our busiest month, but these figures have surpassed our expectations and prove that the market demand from consumers and businesses for mobile ticketing is growing at an accelerated rate with no sign of stopping anytime soon”
